Incident-based civilian fire fatalities from the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office (SFMO) annual-report “Fatality by County” tables (counted where the fire occurred), corroborated by the SFMO public record-level fatalities grid (one row per victim: county, city, address, date, cause). Exact and unsuppressed — every county is listed explicitly including zero-death counties (a complete statewide census, so absence of deaths is a true zero). Excludes firefighter line-of-duty deaths. Per-county counts for 2021-2025 sum exactly to the SFMO statewide totals each year (99/108/96/83/92 = 478); overlapping years are identical across consecutive annual reports.
